NOTABLE  WORK

THE ALBUM

MILWAUKEE, WI

#WATCHMKE

#WatchMKE The Album was a Milwaukee-centered compilation album created under the DJ Heathen imprint to give the city’s music scene one central platform to be heard.

Released physically and digitally through DatPiff.com, the project featured 19 tracks, approximately 76 contributors, and an original feature from National Recording Artist Coo Coo Cal, one of Milwaukee’s most recognizable charting artists. The album was supported by 500 physical copies and a ticketed launch event at 618 Live on Water with an estimated 300 attendees.

While the music came from Milwaukee artists and producers, I led the full non-music production of the project, managing the concept, creative direction, artist coordination, release strategy, promotion, physical distribution, and launch event.

THE CHALLENGE

Milwaukee had talent, but the city did not have one clear, unified project where listeners could hear a wide range of local artists in one place.

The goal was to create more than a mixtape. #WatchMKE The Album was built as a complete city-centered release with music, artwork, engineering, physical copies, digital distribution, promotion, and a live launch moment.

THE SOLUTION

I developed #WatchMKE The Album as a DJ-driven compilation project inspired by the idea of bringing artists together under one curated platform.

I sourced beats, selected artists for each song, coordinated contributors, helped shape creative direction, managed production timelines, and oversaw the release plan. The project was released digitally on DatPiff and physically through 500 CD copies, which were distributed at the release party and hand-to-hand at events.

To support the release, I produced a ticketed launch event at 618 Live on Water, managing the venue, flyer, promotion, run of show, and DJ responsibilities.

MY ROLE

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

I led the project from idea to execution, including:

  • Concept development

  • Artist and producer coordination

  • Beat selection

  • Creative direction

  • Artwork collaboration with Terrell Morgan of Morgan Dezine

  • Mixing and mastering coordination with Chris “Godxilla” Taylor of The Mountain Top A/V

  • Release timeline and promotion

  • Physical CD production and distribution

  • Digital release planning

  • Launch event planning and execution

WHAT IT PROVES

#WatchMKE The Album demonstrates my ability to take a creative idea from concept to public release while managing people, timelines, promotion, production details, and a live event component.

The project shows early proof of the same skills I use in experiential marketing and event production today: building a concept, coordinating contributors, creating a platform, producing a launch moment, and turning culture into a finished experience.
